we are approaching the season of the falling leaves aka autumn with huge steps & it’s time to show you a brandnu sideproject of mine which may become your perfect soundtrack for this upcoming event: I’m talking bout ‘Falling‘ !
‘Falling‘ is the brainchild of shhhh-records label-owner and friend Turgut Kocer (some of you might also know him thru his ambient-soundscapes under the alias of ‘Wardrobe Memories‘) and myself.
the idea behind ‘Falling‘ was to virtuallyjam with various musicians around the globe via the interwebs – the result is astonishing: a sinister creeping dark-jazz-soundtrack-monster with lot’s of lynch-post-twin peaks and bohren-influences.
‘Falling‘ consists of Turgut Kocer (key, sounds, bells), Gabriel Masterson (sax), Frederik Groborsch (upright) and myself (drums).
and here it is:
our first official longplayer ‘Original Motion Picture Soundtrack‘ has already hit the web & is ready for listening/streaming. and if you’re more into the real shit (f.e. like vinyl) you better read along:
on the 13th of september 2013 we will drop a special 100piece limited edition in screaming green 180g deluxe vinyl, including an A4 heavy postercard, download-codes and a bonus-cd with additional 15 b-sides & unreleased tracks – how friggin’ awesome is that??
to catch a glimpse on ‘Original Motion Picture Soundtrack‘ checkout the albumteaser:
you can also check/listen/stream the complete release in full length on bandcamp:
if you like what you hear you can purchase ‘Original Motion Picture Soundtrack directly via my blog – just send an order to this email: falling (at) hell-g (dot) com
or purchase directly thru the shhhhop !
yesyes yalls, it’s true: there’s a brandnu album of my band ‘7 Days Awake‘ – it’s titled ‘Sleepwalk‘ and available exclusively via bandcamp now!
‘Sleepwalk‘ consists of 7 narcotica-laden songs ranging from doped downtempo (codeine, circuits, vortex mind, css) to psyched-out symphonic jams (wasteground, everybody online?) and displays our work of the last 2 years.
to get a short glimpse on ‘Sleepwalk‘ I give you 3 tracks to checkout:
this is a remake of our song ‘Short Circuit‘ (from our 2007 album ‘Time Fluctuations‘) but with a complete makeup of the lyrics and vocals.
as the name already says this songs is strong sedativa – about the incompetence of letting things, situations or persons go after they’ve already left long time ago.
song’s about entering new terrain in everyday life – seeking the unknown challenges and understanding life as constant change. a deep and melancholic hymn.
curious bout ‘Sleepwalk‘? you can also check it in full-length here below or directly on bandcamp! listen/stream/download/buy/share ‘Sleepwalk’!
thanks & cheerz!
p.s.: already seen our live-rehearsal-performance? watch this LINK !
ages ago I told you bout the first band I had back in the 90′s – I’m talking bout ‘Brot & Spiele‘.
meanwhile some wonderful things happened – our former guitarist Ralph Bremenkamp found our very veryfirst recordings we did before we released our first official album ‘Baked City‘ in 94′.
he found our very first demo’s aswell as our very first recorded livegig from 92‘ at the good ole’ JZ Oerlinghausen – how friggin’ sick is that??
Brot & Spiele consisted of Thorsten Strohmeyer (Disthorsten) on guitar, Lutz Schindler (Schindler) on bass, Ralph Bremenkamp (Bremi) on guitar and myself on drums & vocals at this point of time.
well, it’s over 20 years ago and the stuff still sounds somehow kinda fresh & different – at this time our style was a mixture of punk, indie, grunge, hardcore and uhm maybe even some blues & jazzy flavours.
for those of you dear readers who are maybe interested in my very past I prepared three zippacks – the first features our complete first demo, the 2nd our 2nd demo and the third contains our complete first gig at the JZO. the livetape also contains a sloppy cover of nirvana’s ‘Smells like Teen spirit‘ and a hilarious ‘Stand By Me‘ cover !
please don’t expect hifi-quality – get ready for the original worn-out dirty & filthy sound – these are good ole tape-rips!
I’ve got two songs for your preview-listening pleasure – first is called ‘Living Dead‘ from Demo 1.
second song was named ‘Sure‘ from our second demo named ‘Wie das Brot so spielt‘ – recorded at the good ole Fla-Fla Cinema by the Ars Moriendi & Fich Art Crew! Some songs are already on Demo 1, but in different versions.
it’s time for another rerelease on $upra Recordings: this time it’s the second official longplayer by PUCH ,named ‘Sense‘.
‘Sense‘ was produced & recorded between 2002-2003 – compared to our first selftitled lonplayer ,’Sense‘ is a far more melancholic and also more songoriented album.
it combines styles like downtempo/triphop with classic pop and aswell lounge flavours and has a slight indietouch through spices like glitch, dub & illbient.
I first give you three tracks for a small listening impression:
1.) Son Of Schiwago
——————— Featuring the magnificent vocals of Cara McQueen this song has somehow slightly atmospheric & cinematic vibes.
2.) Cover Me With Joy
we can’t deny a little ‘Air’-influence on this one – a worn-out and crunchy dopebeat carries a symphonic organ thru a classic composition featuring the vocals of myself.
3.) Blue Corazón
—————— blue is the keyword here for the overall mood – a deep & melancholic jazzed-up song featuring cara’s outstanding voice again.
I hope these impressions give you a nice view on the overall sad vibes of ‘Sense‘ – tho ‘Sense‘ has way more tracks with vocals, there are some instrumental tunes (f.e. ‘Days Gone’, ‘Big Noise’) aswell. we also give away two tracks of ‘Sense‘ for free download: ‘Space Travel’ & ‘Whatelse Is Wrong’ !
It’s been a while but now the wait is over: Ladies & Gentlemen, we are proud to present you 3 brandnu songs from 7 Days Awake!
we recorded & performed live in our practiceroom in front of a greenscreen which we later filled-up with selffilmed forest-footage. the three songs (vortex mind, codeine & wasteground) are part of our upcoming album ‘Sleepwalk‘ which will be released very soooon….
back on track with two more L.O.S.T.-tunes – this time it’s from another dead band of mine I showed you ages ago – I’m talking bout ‘Tsunami‘ (read more about us —->HERE!).
‘Tsunami‘ stood for melodic indie-powerpop – we had a bunch of nice songs and two (un)official selfmade releases. these two songs are from our second e.p. from 2004/05.
first song is named ‘All Saints‘ and is a catchy midtempo tune featuring the guitarwalls of our guitarist Assi ‘Z’ Zimmermann. (the guy with the cap on the left side of pic above) Tsunami – All Saints
second choon named ‘Grace‘ is a driving uptempo track with a cool hookline revolving around a nice bass-sample provided by our bassman Christian Keller. (the guy with glasses in the rear of pic above) Tsunami – Grace

time for some more old shit – this time I’ve got 2 tunes from my dead sideproject ‘Annette Gratze‘ for you, created somewhere between 2001/02.
the last time I blogged a track of this sideproject here was already two years ago, so if you want to knowmore about ‘Annette Gratze‘, go on clickingTHIS WAY!
the first track I got for you was one of our latest sessionworks & it wasn’t part of our album ‘Words More in the Air‘.
Achnbach and me (who wrote and composed all tracks) sometimes lingered in the basement of their house and had sessions with various instruments. it was mostly improvised stuff without an defined structure. we jammed around, achnbach on guitar & me on synths & percussion and created this organic, slightly ill piece of cake – it somehow has an overall sloppy jazzy feeling to it so we named it after the place where it was created.
we later added additional electronics and annette’s ad-libs.
