Heyall my fellow readers,
it’s the beginning of 2021 and we are kicking it off with a hot and brandnu release on my label $upra Recordings – this time it’s the Blue String E.P. by OXI.
OXI is a four piece indietronic-band from my hometown Bielefeld.
They formed around Jazz Drummer Jonas Gersema in 2018 with the Intention to make electronic music with improvisational character. The band includes Marvin Hauke, technical Mastermind on Modular and Bass Synthesizers, Post-Rock Guitarist Marvin Kruehler and musical child prodigy Julian Taubner on Keys.
For their Debut ‘Blue String E.P.’ they collaborated with the singer Fortune Cat.
They describe their sound as Electro-House-Pop.
The three songs have an overall dreamy but simultaneously driving atmosphere and work on both sides: in an armchair via headphones or while floating over the dance floor.
