It´s friggin cold outside

yes, it´s true yalls – time to get your pullovers out!

and here´s my gift for you: a tune called ‘pullover’! :)

I did this dark & driving techstep track in 2002/03 and it´s some kind of drum & bass rework of the samenamed track by one of my alltime-faves when it comes to techno music; Jochem Paap aka ‘Speedy J’.

So for now don´t get mad that this track is only in 128kbits – this tune (and a bunch of other older tunes) is soon going to be rereleased in the beginning of 2010 on my little label in full 320kbit-quality! :)

Stay tuned for this & enjoy!

heyalls,
today I´ve got a very special blogpost for you: a spontaneous livesession from h.neu & k.pelle!
we recorded this tune named ‘Tümpelrave’ and a bunch of other stuff on last friday (11.12.2009) at p.muench´s synthie-vault-kinderzimmer.

you can see us (from left: b.teichner, p.muench & h.neu) performing live only on toy-keyboards from casio & yamaha – it´s a free improvisation performance and recorded in one take!

enjoy and have a nice chilled sunday!

Oldie of the week

•December 10, 2009 • 1 Comment

back again with another weekly oldie – this time it´s no tune of my current alias ‘hell g.’ but one of my former alias ‘Floater’.

i found this track named ‘Debris’ while digging thru old dat-tapes of 93-96 in several different variations and recording-versions.
this version must be the first one from 95, which was originally recorded on normal tape & later got digitized from tape to dat (you can hear a slight tape noise in the beginning of the track).

it´s also one of the rare Floater-stuff with my vocals inside a song. very silent it whispers here and there. :)

the overall atmosphere of the tune is dark, hypnotic-pulsating and very underworld-inspired – I was also inspired by stuff from orbital & leftfield as you might hear.
the tune has an epic length of ‘8:28′min – enjoy the movie! ;)

Let´s surf some Karma!

today I´ve got a very special bandproject for you, where I´m often involved – I´m talking bout the international psychedelic instrumental jam-concept-band ‘Karmasurfers’.

this band is the brainchild of it´s former, guitarist and labelowner of Radiopulpo Records, Andreas Calvente.
the ‘Karmasurfers’ have an often changing line-up but mostly consist of the members Andi Calvente on guitars, Ferran Pericas on bass, Toni Ripoll on guitars and myself on drums.
another remarkeable thing is, that one half of the band (Ferran & Toni) are coming from and living in Mallorca.
the ‘Karmasurfers’ meet up in inconsistent time-periods because of the distance – when we meet, it´s often directly combined with gigs and practice.
we released 3 vinylsingles & two longplayers until now – all of the stuff can be discovered on the homepage of Radiopulpo Records.

the concept of the ‘Karmasurfers’ is to create mostly instrumental psychedelic soundscapes with lots of 80´s indie and shoegazer influences, which arise out of jamsessions which we record and later filter the essence out of it. :)

now I´ve got two examples for you:

the first song called ‘Stereophobia’ is from our 2004 released longplayer Karmasurfers Recording Sessions (see cover above).
this song is a psychedelic instrumental spacerock tune with lots of
magnificent E-Bow-action coming from the magic hands of Andi Calvente. :)
enjoy the trip!
Karmasurfers – Stereophobia

the second song called ‘The Only One’ comes from our latest release in 2008 called Karmasurfers Recording Session Vol. 2 which has been released only on vinyl.
this is a smooth, ethereal & spherical instrumental tune featuring myself on the piano.
if you like mogwai or sigur rós, you might enjoy this aswell. :)

enjoy them tripz!

It´s St. Nicholas’ Day!

•December 6, 2009 • Leave a Comment

yeah, yalls read right! and guess what´s time for?? my friend p.muench and me prepared a special-St.-Nicholas’-Day-download for ya: two very rare & unreleased tracks from ‘h.neu & p.muench’ – how fkkn awesome is that?? :D

some days ago we sat there in p.muench´s kitchen and were digging thru old cd-boxes full of old stuff we did together in the past and we found some true pearls wich we wanna give to yalls fo free for pre-christmas! :)

first one named ‘Ein Bielefelder in Berlin’ is a coverversion of Sting´s ‘Englishman in New York’ and is thematically bout someone who´s lamenting that most of the former Bielefeld citizens move away from here to live in Berlin becoz it´s somehow smarter, better, cooler & easier to live there. musically this tune starts very smooth & morphs into some glitchy delaysessions at the end. enjoy that shit! :)

h.neu & p.muench – Ein Bielefelder in Berlin

the second tune is just another unreleased dadaistic masterpiece named ‘Hundepisse’ (in engl.: dog piss) – no more words on that track, just listen & enjoy!! ;)

h.neu & p.muench – Hundepisse

p.s.: p.muench & me are planning a VERY special christmas free give-away for yalls in the next weeks – so stay tuned for updates!! :)

Back in the Abyssum

my dear readers,
today we approach a quadrant inside of my mp3-abyssum we didn´t approach before – it´s the galaxy of the unfinished. :)

here are all the tunes I started to produce someday and never brought to a proper ending.
I recently discovered that most of the unfinished stuff is related to my former aliases ‘FX-INTRUDER’ & ‘Floater’.

so here we go with two unfinished tunes:
first one is a crazy tune from 1995 featuring my previous alias ‘FX-INTRUDER’. this housy track called ‘Madhouse’ is somewhere between house and techno and got lots of chicago, acid & detroit influences – but totally leads into nothing. a bit monotone the house-stabs rotate around themselves and the transitions aren´t smooth enough to make this a finished track. anyway a nice idea. ;)
FX-INTRUDER – Madhouse

second tune is a short reprise-version of the ‘Floater’ track ‘Lucid’ (I posted the original HERE) and was originally planned as a reprise/fade-out edit for an cd-release which never happened. also this edit lacks a lot when it comes to smooth transitions – only things that changed are some drum & synthsounds and the overall length. a bit uninspired tho – hope yall have fun with it anyhow. ;)
Floater – Lucid (2nd Coming)

Something ghostly

back again with some rare unreleased stuff of my dead sideproject ‘annette gratze’.
her husband achnbach & me were the composers of all the songs while annette completed them with her beautiful broken voice & lyrics.
here are two tunes of achnbach & myself before annette had lend us her vocals from the year(s) 1998/99.

the first one named ‘ghosts’ is a very slow downtempo lofi-triphop track with distorted guitars, stretched & ultra-slowed down broken beats and some creepy choral-samples. the tune was later renamed into ‘I remember’, after annette completed it with her vocals and al fred did some nice trumpet & sax work. this is the raw & rare instrumental version.
hell g. + achnbach – ghosts

the second song named ‘twilight’ is aswell a very slowed down lofi-triphop track with looped livedrums and a nice surprising moodchange in the middle. it was later renamed into ‘winter sunlight’ after annette finished it with her voice. here´s the instrumental.
hell g. + achnbach – twilight

the vocal versions of these instrumentals will soon be online on Annette´s MySpace – I´ll keep you updated! :)
until then enjoy the tunes!

Oldie of the week

•November 29, 2009 • Leave a Comment

back again with another oldie of the week. this time I was very inspired by the jazzy stuff coming from labels like ninjatune, mo-wax and wall of sound records and the allover smooth n relaxed vibes from releases of f.e. luke vibert, amon tobin, funki porcini, clifford gilberto, etc.

one example of my jazzy experiments is the 1998 tune ‘allthatjazz’ – a lush groovy swingtune flavoured with livedrums. I sampled a lot of fragments from old jazz records, like trumpets, trombones, bass, etc. – enjoy and have a chilled sunday! :)

oh nooo, not another project with me & mario christofferson (aka dub mars) again…you might think..:)
oh yees, here we go with our disco/electro house project ‘ORDNUNGZAMT©’, which was born in 2006 and today it´s into sleep-mode.
we made a bunch of crunchy housy tunes which we packed together as a digital-only-release named ‘CTRL’ which is available in my little mp3-shop. feel free to check that out.

here we go with two tunes of us that we give away for free:

first one is a bootleg-version from a cover/remix we did of one of our favourite songs by robert palmer.
check out ‘z3r741n7y’ and do it quick – only available for a short time!! :)

ORDNUNGZAMT© – z3r741n7y (Bootleg Radio Mix)

second choon is my hell g. remix of ‘z3r741n7y’ featuring our former 7 Days Awake-singer mario carlucci on the vocals – more electro & more pumped-up! ;)

Another memorable Remix

yalls, it´s time to lay down some serious sound – these bro´s on the pic above stand for bodyshakin´ rhythm & noise and skullcrushin´industrial symphonies and are also very good mates & hometown-buddies of mine: I´m talkin bout ‘Synapscape’.

it was one of these days in 2001 when tim (dave) and phil (martin) asked me to do a remix for one of their tracks from their upcoming album ‘positive pop’ and I was like: “fuck YEAH!!” :D
I chose their banging tune ‘notorious’ and turned it into some distorted dnb-industrial-hybrid-wreck-step-track. ;)
caution: before you continue listening be prepared for harsh rhythmic & distorted sounds and turn your stereo on maximum volume!

Synapscape – Notorious (Killa RMX by hell g.)

my remix & a bunch of other remixes by artist like ,f.e. asche, imminent, savak, converter, etc., were released on a limited edition triple 10″ vinylboxset on ant-zen records. :)
