Return of the Madness

•November 6, 2009 • Leave a Comment

my dear fellow readers,
my last 3 days were a bit like a rollercoaster-ride – huge downs & ups in several different lifesituations and I wasn´t able to blog anything during this turbulent ride.
for now it seems it stopped so far & here we go with an older tune from 2000 I did with my good friend & PUCH-mate mario christofferson (aka dub mars) which describes this ride very nice in a musical way.

the tune is called ‘mad man´s blues’ and can be filed under illbient, big beats, dopebeats.
watch out for the nice ill tempochange inside! ;)
credits & thanks for the awkward trumpet going out to al fred! :)
hell g. & dub mars – mad man´s blues

have yalls a nice weekends!

Something for your feet

•November 3, 2009 • Leave a Comment

here comes again something for yalls to dance & move your feet & booty to – I prepared another mix for yalls to download or stream and have a good time while listening! how incredibly nice is that? :D

as you can already see on the cover above this time we´re moving thru a medieval disco surrounding.
come & see the fearless crusaders riding out of authentic oldschool disco forests straight into the dark electro highlands fighting with the nine-headed hi-nrg-hydra, demonic neodisco dragons, the itchy italo-disco-ifrit and finally approaching and beating the three-headed electro-cerberus and the rave-sirens of death to free the queen of dancing.

I wish yalls much fun with this mix! :)

Oldie(s) of the week

•November 2, 2009 • Leave a Comment

shame on me yalls! last week I forgot to post an oldie of the week – and to keep you calm I dedicided to post two oldies this week – isn´t that rad? ;)
ok, here we go – first oldie is my third or fourth physical release I had on a compilation. this time it was on the often mentioned Bubble Bunny Music in 2001 on the sweet little but deceased label ‘Schneetreiben’.
they chose my tune ‘final fantasies’, which is my personal dedication to the worlds most greatest action-rpg-game that was ever made for the playstation 1. stylistic this tune goes from freaked out illbient & idm into breaky sci-fi dnb.
caution: this is the full extended version of ‘final fantasies’ which was also on my unofficial release ‘unireverse’ in 2000 – the version on ‘Bubble Bunny Music’ was only the single edit. enjoy!
hell g. – final fantasies

the second tune I´ve got for you isn´t really an oldie coz it´s nearly only 3 years old. the track is called ‘gated community’ and is from my official release Carefree from 2006 on my little label $upra-Recordings.
it could be described as a very fast electrostep/dnb-track mixed up with chiptune elements.
hell g. – gated community

enjoy dem tripz! :)

The day ‘Brot & Spiele’ became ‘Suprafutur’

•October 29, 2009 • Leave a Comment

do yalls remember when I once told you the history of my first band ever ‘Brot & Spiele’?
fine, coz now the saga continues… ;)

in 1997 we got a bit bored by our old songs and the overall crossoverish sound and decided to take a break and only met up for jamsessions. during these sessions we noticed that our sound slightly morphed into some more indielofitrashpoprock – we liked it more & more while we were jamming and started creating new songs.

in 1998 we had nearly 12 complete new songs finished and decided to record some of em.
first we recorded a 2-track demotape still under our name ‘Brot & Spiele’, but then we realized, that our old name didn´t fit the nu sound. so we dropped the old name and remaned ourselves into ‘Suprafutur’. the members & instruments were the same as ‘Brot & Spiele’: schindler on bass, disthorsten on guitar and myself on drums & vocals. later on there was also a guy named folter on synthesizer & additional guitar. :)

we went back to the studio and recorded 3 different tracks on an unofficial demo-cd named ‘Rewind’. one year later in 99 I compiled the 2 songs from the tape, the 3 songs from ‘Rewind’ and a selfmade remix of a sessiontrack and released the cd-e.p. ‘Worth Living For’ (see cover above) on my little label ‘$upra-Recordings’.
there are still nearly 13 cd´s left here for sale – if someone of yalls is interested just drop me a msg!
and now: nuff said – here come´s the sound!

the first tune named ‘Thief’ is from the demo-cd ‘Rewind’ and is a fast & driving uptempo indielofitrashpop-song with a nice hookline, slightly distorted vocals, a juno 60 and handclaps in the end. enjoy!
Suprafutur – Thief

the second song named ‘Get Strange’ is from the two-track demotape – it´s a trashy/lofi melodic midtempo tune which breaks out in the end.
Suprafutur – Get Strange

have fun with the tunes!

Another memorable Remix

•October 27, 2009 • 1 Comment

here comes another memorable remix I did in 99 for the faboulous ‘Riviera’ – nah, not the coast but the gorgeous german easy listening/loungepop duo with the same name. :)
the duo ‘Riviera’ consists of sis/bros Julia & Roland Wolf hailing the world with their sweet sound from Hückelhoven, Germany.
listening to riviera´s music is like opening a box of candies never really knowing what kind of sweet you´ll get next, but being confident that it will be sweet in any way. :)

we met ourselves virtually on the deceased musicplatform mp3.com (r.i.p.) in 98/99 and later aswell on the same cd-compilation Bubble Bunny Music.
then I asked roland if I could do a remix of their faboulous song ‘Veruschka’ and he gave me green lights.

my version adds some epic organchords and sloppy-grooving breakbeats to the song, which may stylistic be filed under easy loungehop-j-pop. ;)
this tune may bring back some sunshine into the last pastelgrey-coloured days – enjoy!

you should also better checkout Riviera´s Website! It might save your day! ;)

Another season

•October 26, 2009 • Leave a Comment

yes, it´s official: summer has ended, days have gone shorter & we´re approaching some rather cold times again better known as autumn/fall/winter/etc..
and I´ve got two tunes here for you to keep you acoustic in the right mood for that upcoming change. :)

first tune is the smooth & melancholic ‘another season’ from my dead sideproject ‘annette gratze’ (<< I showed you already in this older post).
she really paints the seasonal changes perfectly with her fragile emotional voice – enjoy the song!
annette gratze – another season

also check annette´s space!

second choon is a heavy rolling illbient/triphop/dopebeat track named ‘winter’ I did in 97.
it was later used as a backingtrack for the sametitled tune of my deceased german hiphop-project ‘A, D & Hoellen-G’.
hell g. – winter

enjoy the thongs & may yalls have a nice week! ;)

Again two more PUCH songs for free!

•October 23, 2009 • Leave a Comment

yes, it´s true: here are again two PUCH songs for you for free download. :)
these tunes are from our third inofficial release from 2003/04 named ‘OZ’ – it´s by far our most melancholic & elegic album and fits perfectly into the upcoming fall/winter season.

but let´s start with the most unmelancholic tune from ‘OZ’:
the track is titled ‘playground’ and captures images of childhood, easiness, love, eternity, trust & faith.
stylistic it´s somewhere between lounge, dopebeats & dub.
puch – playground

the second tune we´ve got for you is the complete opposite of ‘playground’.
dark, deep, soulful & spiked with pain this song named ‘withOut’ creeps thru a lynch-esque atmosphere featuring the desperate lamenting lyrics & beautiful broken voice of our singer Cara.
stylistic ‘withOut’ can be filed under downtempo/triphop.
puch – withOut

enjoy the tunes!

Oldie of the week

•October 21, 2009 • Leave a Comment

this weeks oldie is again a tune I did in 97/98.
it was that time when I was experimenting with dnb very much and used lots of unusual sounds & noises inside my arrangements.

this techy scifi-tune named ’stealth’ is an example for my early dnb-experiments – dnb & idm collide with harsh & dry bass-stabs, unreal spacesynths, unidentified noises and techy n´shifty breaks.
it´s from my unofficially released e.p. called ‘massive retaliation’ in 99.

hell g. – stealth

enjoy z-trip!

The present of ‘7 Days Awake’

•October 19, 2009 • 2 Comments

back again with some news from my band ‘7 Days Awake’ – last weekend we recorded the vocals for our upcoming longplayer ‘Interference’ at the studio from our label ‘Abandon Records’ in Hamburg.
We recorded with Alex Henke & Stefan Thölen from Abandon.

the last weeks I worked very hard on the lyrics – we also did a lot of additional instrumental interludes, which will appear between some songs on the album.
we`re getting more & more excited about the album, coz every little piece we created fits together very well until now…:)
but there´s still a lot of work to do for the finish.

until now I prepared a small fotoalbum with some impressions from our studioweekend.
you can check it out HERE!

and for the extreme curious guys around you we have a very small bad-quality videosnippet.
there´s not really much to see or hear in there, but if you listen very carefully you can hear it in the fragments of my lyrics what our upcoming album will sound like. ;)
check the sneekpeek HERE!

have a nice week yalls!
stay tuned – I keep you updated!

More news from the Abyssum

•October 14, 2009 • Leave a Comment

back again in my mp3-Abyssum – this time we´re going to approach two different quadrants simultaneously (via interstellar wormholes); the ‘blackhole of the lost aliases’ & the ’star of the lonely tunes’.

first we enter the blackhole again to discover another dead sideproject of mine, the ‘MYSTIC BRAIN PROJECT’. :)
I had this sideproject running from 94-98 with my good friend and later roommate hendrik wörman (aka Darth Wörman). MBP was all about soundcollages, noises, bedroom-ambient & tape music – most of our stuff was hardly listenable…
this first rare, melodic tune of us called ‘organic’ is from 95, very spherical and features several different types of organs, melting together to a floating, acousmatic ambient track. enjoy that!
MYSTIC BRAIN PROJECT – Organic

second we approach the ’star of the lonely tunes’ – here are all the tunes, which were very unique inside of each alias’ context; they were somehow ‘lonely’ under a bunch of very different tracks – also a lot of tunes here have the word ‘lonely’ inside the tune-title, or were thematically bout being lonely.
this tune from aswell 1995 named ‘lucid’ is an example for a stylistic ‘lonely tune’ inside the musical context of my floater alias. the overall sound, especially the beats, are very 80´s laden, but the main melody features a slightly detuned and heavy sustained roland juno 60 synthesizer.
but listen for yoself:
Floater – Lucid

enjoy the trip(s)!
